Despite being a Hamish and Andy drive time fan… i decided to give The Akmal Show a listen to. Overall i thought it wasn’t bad. I found that the pair worked well together, but occasionally interupted each other during segments. Since both Akmal and his co-host Cal Wilson are Comedians, they both provided a spark to the show when competing against Hamish and Andy on the Fox.
A few things that i found annoying during the show was when coming back from a song, they back announced the song and went into ads. For a drive time show, I don’t want to be listening to ads after someone has back announced a song. If I had to listen to ads, I’d rather have the ads in with the song not after the producer or host has back announced a song.
Akmal and Cal had discussion about “do you drive differently when someone is in the car with you?” Normaly you would expect the dicussion to go over two seperate segments in the show, but with this discussion, it went over 3 segments. I found it that it got a little long winded. They may of happend because something went wrong in the planning of the show or they just wanted to cover it over 3 segments.
